Darth Laura and the Valley of the Moon
W
e arrived in the most ridiculous town for driving I have ever seen. San Pedro de Atacama might be one of the hardest towns to get around in a car I have ever been in. They only have one way streets to the south and the only street that goes west is a pedestrian street where you can´t drive. I thought I was going to have a heart attack at the ripe age of 26. Luckily I was with Laura and just took it out on her, she understands. After the headaches, we found a place with parking and settled in.

The next day we got up extremely early, around 4am and headed to the Geysers at Tatio. We decided to go in a tour because there are no signs and is hard to find. We arrived at the geysers around 6 and they were quite impressive. The scene of the sun rising and the geysers spewing was magnificent.
Our guide heated tea and hot chocolate in the geysers and Laura found it easy to keep warm amongst the steam, and the dark side.
Afterwards we went for a dip in the thermal springs, no pictures, consider yourself lucky. Afterwards we visited a town where people live at extreme altitudes, roughing it with solar panels. We were back by 12 to San Pedro in time for a nap and lunch.

That evening we headed to the Valle de la Luna. I apologize for all the pictures of the moon, it just seemed natural to take pictures of the moon in the valley of the moon. It is a impressive valley with no forms of life.
It is lifeless yet beautiful, with many different rock formations that look, no joke, out of this world. With the sun gone, and no life to keep us company we headed back to San Pedro having had a long day, needing rest for a day in the sand.
