Shower of love

Once you pay the cops, Peru is a great place. There driving is a little more restricted than in Bolivia and it took some getting used to. It is hard to be back on the road, we drove around 8 hours to get to Arequipa, including crossing the border and paying our bribe! Arequipa is a town at the base of a mountain range and is shadowed by an impressive volcano. We found one of the best Hostels (Regis) we have ever stayed at. Because of this, we didn´t leave much. Laura got sick, so we did a lot of sleeping, and showering in a real shower, gas heated, pressure, shower curtain. Oh YEAH, it had it all! We relaxed, enjoyed the great architecture (mostly made of a local white marble, hence the nickname of the white city), got our new Peruvian cell card, and watched some sports. They actually played a NBA game, it was a relief to watch something other than soccer. We found a great Mexican restaurant. The owner probably thought it was weird when I asked him if I could buy a bottle of his hot sauce, it was full of spice and savory goodness! We washed the car and adorned her with her new Bolivia stickers! We also searched for washer fluid, but down here they call it WATER! We got some rest, tomorrow we are heading to soar with the condors in the high canyons of southern Peru.
