Pit stop
W
e left Bocas with the hope of getting through Costa Rica in just one night. Having been there together three years ago we decided we could cover some ground as our time is starting to run out
. The border proved to be challenging as it is a one lane bridge. After exiting Panama when the bridge was open in our direction, we came to a well equipped Costa Rican customs without a copy machine. They needed a copy of my entrance stamp, so it makes complete sense to make the tourist go into town and make copies at the pharmacy. Three attempts in the rain to obtain the correct copies put us back on the road. The tourism money helps in Costa Rica as the roads where great. We stayed outside of San Jose for the night, and ordered enough pizza to kill a man. The roads were narrow and had blind curves from there up to Nicaragua, which could even frazzle the nerves of a cool cat like myself. The border was as usual slow process with many people offering to help for a tip. I got annoyed because they would not stop tapping on the window
. In my frustration I drove right by an official handing out customs forms. When Luara ran back to get one, he told her to feed me more sugar so that I would be happier. That made me laugh out a little frustration and the rest of the process seemed a little smoother. With Costa Rica behind us we are now onto Nicaragua, count ´em 9 countries
.
