Ruta 3 and killer whales (not on the highway)

I didn´t think the day would ever come, but we are finally heading North. We left Puerto Natales Sunday morning and headed East, yes East to go North. We crossed the border at one of 3 towns named El Turbio, still not sure which one we went through. It was good to be back in Argentina where the gas is about half of the price than in Chile (Socialist taxes). We intended to stop in Rio Gallegos for lunch, but decided to get some miles under us. We were told it was the more beautiful route, but we didn´t see much other than the occational tree. We battled through the rain and desvios (detours) on dirt roads. We breathed in the twilight air and stayed at a ´rest stop´ of a town, and headed out the next morning for Puerto Madryn. We visited Peninsula Valdez, a nature reserve where you can see a lot of wildlife. We happened to come during a down time as far as animal activity goes, but we made the best of it. We saw a very curious armadillo who seemed to know where the food was. We also go to see Elephant seals and fur seals. This is a location where killer whales strand themselves on the beach in order to catch seals. We saw killer whales at a good distance, however they never made there way to the beach. Oh, how can I forget, we actually found a Guinness on St. Patrick´s day (doesn´t have the same ring down here) but it was a lovely day. We headed out the next morning trying to get a good bit of distance and hit Bahia Blanca. We made it only to find out it is a city with nothing to offer except overpriced lodging. We resisted the desires to go to McDonald's and get comfort food and headed for Buenos Aires. I don´t think I could have imagined how hard it would be to try and find your way into a large city, no signs whatsoever for anything we recognized on a map. However, we made it. Not sure what we are going to do for the weekend, have Spanish classes starting next week.
