Getting back on track
S
addened to leave Quito and all the debauchery we got into, I was excited to see my brother Paolo. I last saw him at Laura´s graduation in Philadelphia. I made the drive by myself just fine, it took a little to get me to Paolo´s house as Guayaquil is by far the most confusing city I have ever driven in. Pretty much everywhere you go, a u-turn is part of the normal directions. It was good to see his whole family. We took it easy as I was pretty tired, and my favorite sister was to arrive the next day. Laura´s bus got in a little late, but we picked her up, and I might add that she wasn´t all that excited to see me. Maybe her week alone was better without me, but come on, who wouldn´t want to spend a year with me in a car. It was good to see her as much as I don´t like to admit it. The parents were planning on making another visit anyway, but with the robbery it created a great opportunity to bring some much needed things down to us. They arrived with loaded bags, and pickles, real dill pickles! Most of the stuff was for Laura, even though she still had some things! Just kidding mother, thanks parents for everything. It was a relaxed visit with not too many touristy activities to distract us. We spent a lot of time with Paolo´s family. We headed down to the Malicon to hit up a little Sunday evening pirating, Laura was ecstatic. We sailed the seven seas and the pirate and or captain came out in all of us.

We also visited an old friend of Paolo´s that we hadn´t seen since Nick, the Captain and I were down here last time, good old Ronnie. I think Paolo missed him as he couldn´t keep his hands off once again. I got a little love too before we said goodbye again, I hope it isn´t another six years Mr. McDonald
